City Light Construction is a family-owned and operated contractor based in Spotsylvania, VA. Founded in 2021 after years of experience in the construction industry, we started City Light with a simple goal: to make home improvement projects feel clear, collaborative, and well cared for from start to finish.
We take the time to understand your vision, communicate throughout the project, and deliver quality workmanship we’re proud to stand behind. From decks and concrete to roofing, gutters, siding, fencing, and remodeling, our team is here to help homeowners throughout Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and surrounding areas bring their vision to life.
Our Process
Tell us what you have in mind. We’ll ask a few questions and schedule a complimentary consultation at your home so we can see the space and better understand your project.
Your project consultant will evaluate the space, talk through options and materials, and prepare a clear proposal for the work. Financing options are also available if you’re interested.
After the agreement is signed and your initial payment is made, our production team coordinates the plans, permits, materials, crews, HOA documentation, and scheduling needed for your project.
Once required permits and HOA approvals are in place, we’ll confirm your start date and provide any preparation or material delivery details. Your site supervisor will oversee the work and keep you updated as the project moves forward.
When construction is complete, we’ll walk through the finished project with you, address any remaining scope items, complete required final inspections, and provide applicable warranty information.

Timing depends on the type of project, season, material availability, and whether permits or HOA approval are required. Once your agreement is signed and the initial payment is received, our production team begins coordinating the materials, crew, plans, and schedule.
A firm construction date is confirmed once any required outside approvals are in place.
Yes! City Light Construction handles the permit application and required inspections related to your project scope. We’ll let you know what applies during the planning process so you’re not left trying to figure it out on your own.
If your HOA requires approval, you’ll submit the application, but City Light Construction can provide the drawings, material details, and other project information needed to support your submission.
Projects that require HOA or permit approval are scheduled once those approvals are complete.
